Just 40 days til Katy comes to Manila

International pop diva Katy Perry is set to light up the stage on May 7 as fans prepare to storm the Philippine Arena for the “Prismatic World Tour.” The concert, presented by AEG Live, supports her highly successful album “Prism,” which debuted at number one on The Billboard 200. The tour has been a hugely successful global spectacle, with 17 sold-out arenas in the UK, 66 sold-out arenas in North America and 25 sold-out arenas in Australia and New Zealand in 2014. The tour continues in 2015 throughout Europe, Asia, and South America.

Katy’s show features a state-of-the art stage, specifically designed by the singer. It allows her to get closer to her fans than ever before. The one-of-a-kind set design will provide concertgoers with a truly magical experience from every angle of the Philippine Arena.

KatyCats can expect the full “Prism” experience in a two-hour spectacle segmented into an amalgamation of Katy’s cartoon persona set against the blazing neon lights of her universe. Katy Perry opens with Roar and segues into five other segments — from “Egyptian” with her hits Dark Horse and Legendary Lovers to a feline-themed segment called “Cat-Oure” with her seminal hit Hot N’ Cold.

Apart from the sonic pop overload and the visual equivalent of a tsunami light show, Katy Perry fans should expect a slew of costume changes to rival her previous candy-coated outing for 2011’s “California Dreams Tour.” Katy’s styling team enlists Moschino’s Jeremy Scott for a leather jacket and smiley- adorned bustier, Roberto Cavalli for a holographic crop top and skater skirt combo, New York-based designer Todd Thomas closes out the show’s Firework encore with a cutaway gown in a digitally printed rainbow.  The pop diva is charged to bring a feast for the senses on May 7.
