MANILA, Philippines - Levels, Fade Into Darkness, Silhouettes, Seek Bromance and I Could Be The One. These are just some of the current chart-topping hits created by Grammy Award nominee, Swedish DJ, remixer, record producer and model Avicii.
Avicii, who jump started his career as DJ Tim Bergling at the age of 18, is a self-taught DJ who became tremendously successful at the age 22. Since 2008, the fresh-faced Avicii has risen from talented bedroom music – maker to the international music superstar that he is now. Avicii has headlined the world’s biggest electronic music festivals such as Ultra in Miami, Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas and Tomorrowland in Belgium. He has also headlined Coachella, Lollapalooza, Creamfields, Stereosonic, Mysteryland, Exit Festival, and Austin City Limits. Avicii’s popular remixes and collaborations with different music icons such as Tiësto, Bob Sinclair, David Guetta and Madonna, and even his worldwide partnership with Ralph Lauren Denim and Supply, have made him the most innovative DJ of his generation and the first-ever artist to become the face of a Ralph Lauren brand.
In 2009, Avicii was named “Breakthrough Producer/DJ of the Year†in the special edition of DJ Magazine’s Top 100, and “The Swedish Future†in Only for DJ’s magazine. In 2011, Avicii ranked No. 6 on the Top 100 DJs list by DJ Magazine, and then ranked higher the following year coming in at No. 3. During the same year, Avicii’s hit Sunshine was nominated as Best Dance Recording at the Grammys. In 2012, Avicii made history as the first DJ to headline Radio City Music Hall in New York. Remarkably, Avicii and his manager, Ash Pournouri, raised $1 million for charity through their “House for Hunger†project in the same year. This 2013, Avicii was once again nominated at the Grammys for the EDM (Electronic Dance Music) anthem Levels under the Best Dance Recording category. With a vast array of accomplishments under his belt, Avicii is, indeed, one of the biggest and most successful DJs of today.
Currently, Avicii spreads his great music through his world tour. From Mexico, Dominican Republic, to Miami and next, Manila, Avicii brings his world-smash hits closer to his worldwide fan base of different age groups. On April 4, Manila will be the one to experience Avicii – live at the SM Mall of Asia Arena as Globe Tattoo, the country’s most reliable broadband, brings Avicii Live in Manila.
