MANILA, Philippines - SMART recently launched Apple’s much-anticipated update to their line of smartphones, the iPhone 5, last Dec. 14. Die-hard Apple fanatics eagerly lined up for the main launch at the Atrium of Resorts World Manila to get first dibs on the new gadget that has been widely in-demand months prior to its official release. Five iPhones were raffled off to winners during the midnight countdown while dance and music performances, live sets from DJs Nina Saputil and Funk Avy, free-flowing food and drinks hyped up the massive crowd in attendance. The telecommunications company also awarded the first few iPhone plan subscribers a Macbook Air notebook, airfare tickets or an Xbox.
Also present at the event were SMART chief wireless advisor Doy Vea, Executive vice president of consumer marketing Noel Lorenzana, president and CEO Napoleon Nazareno and celebrity endorsers Elmo and Maxene Magalona, Sam Pinto and Boys Night Out, who hosted the event alongside Sam Oh.
Following the success of the main launch was a roof-raising after party at Republiq Club hosted by Styles Entertainment and featuring performances from international acts. There was no stopping the party with DJs Lucky Lou and Audiobot on deck, the Party Rock Crew and a number of dancers from Vegas including Misa Campo as they spread fun, cheer, and booze among the party goers.
Rhian Ramos, KC Montero, Cesca Litton, Troy Montero, Aubrey Miles, James and Phil Younghusband were among the many celebrity guests who were thrilled with the dance- inducing beats by the international DJ and the jaw-dropping moves from the dancers. Sought- after bloggers such as Laureen Uy, Camille Co, Patricia Prieto and television host Mike Concepcion also supported the event.
