Pupung's next top model
MANILA, Philippines - Solo continues its search for the brand’s newest male and female models for its Spring 2013 collection with its Online Model Search. Now in its 4th year, the model search was simultaneously launched with the brand’s holiday collection, featuring the beloved Pinoy Cartoonist Memorabilia Series.
The Memorabilia Series’s current collection features Tonton Young’s Pupung. Previous collections featured Larry Alcala’s Slice of Life and Tony Velasquez’s Kenkoy. The works of these cartoonists are immortalized in fun tees, collared his and her shirts, dresses, shorts, rompers, woven tops, leggings, hoodies, and accessories like necklaces, mugs, key chains, and others.
Contestants can join by visiting www.facebook.com/mySoloOnline and complete the entry form and submit their entries wearing any apparel from Solo’s Pinoy Cartoonist Memorablia Series featuring Pupung. Photo entries must adhere to Solo’s image and the theme of the contest, which is Pop Art. Creativity and layout of the photo entry are also part of the judging criteria. The partner graphic artist or photographers of the winning models will also receive prizes.
Voting period is from Sept. 1 to Nov. 30. Lucky voters will win prizes. Solo will then pick the top 20 finalists (10 male and 10 female), who will be invited for an interview and go-see. A judging panel will select one boy and one girl who are naturally photogenic and have an outstanding personality. Winners will take home cash prizes, gift certificates from Solo and other sponsors, experience a professionally done photo shoot, and have their pictures featured in all Solo stores this spring 2013.
Previous winners, who reflect the personality of the brand — young, hip and bold — include Jaggy Tallada and Joanna Flor in 2010, Mehran Khaledi and Phoebe Rutaquio in 2011, and Edward Espinola and Sophia Balagat in 2012.
