MANILA, Philippines - After bagging the top awards at the Grammys, English recording artist Adele is again making major music news, this time at the Brit Awards 2012. Adele, took home two Brits — Best British Album for “21” and Best British Female Recording Artist. Of the controversial TV moment, Adele clarified that the said gesture was not intended for the fans. “I’m sorry if I offended anyone but the suits offended me… Nothing makes me prouder than coming home with six Grammys and then coming to the Brits and winning album of the year. I’m so proud to be British and to be flying our flag.” A spokesperson for the awards show released this statement in response, “We regret this happened and we send our deepest apologies to Adele that her big moment was cut short. We don’t want this to undermine her incredible achievement in winning our night’s biggest award.”
Among the night’s big winners were Ed Sheeran, known for tracks like “The A Team,” and “Lego House,” with two awards for Best British Male Solo Artist and British Breakthrough Act. On the band front, Coldplay was hailed Best British Group for the third time while the Foo Fighters won for International Group.
