Best of the Week: Two women fighting and a president in love
Best Performance Of The Week: Her Madge-Esty
MANILA, Philippines - While most Americans were glued to their television sets for Super Bowl XLVI last Sunday night (Feb.5) for the football action, let’s be honest: that’s just half the fun. The annual event has been increasingly famed for its ostentatious halftime performances, and this year, Madonna took the stage. Her Madge-esty amazed everyone with her performance as she sang some of her greatest hits and covered tracks that included a mash-up of LMFAO’s Party Rock Anthem/Sexy and I Know It. Singers Nicki Minaj, M.I.A., LMFAO, and Cee Lo Green also joined in during her performance. Her show-stopping 13-minute halftime performance showed everyone that even at 53 years old (!), she isn’t still the reigning Queen of Pop for nuthin’.
Couple Of The Week: P-Noy And Grace Lee
Love is in the air for ladies’ man P-Noy, who seems to have found his match with DJ Grace Lee. The news comes as a pleasant surprise now that Valentine’s is just around the corner, a time when everyone urgently needs a break from the impeachment trials to focus on going out with a special someone. Grace is obviously smitten with the President, claiming that he is one of the most intelligent men she has ever met and that he has a “huge,” erm, “chance” of winning her heart. It’s nice to finally see P-Noy in an almost-real relationship after all those girls. Perhaps we’re getting ahead of ourselves, but we believe that even the President deserves the chance to experience the three rings of marriage: the engagement ring, the marriage ring, and suffering! (Wek, wek, wek. — ed.)
Swagga Of The Week: Iggy Arroyo
The passing of Negros Occidental representative Iggy Arroyo due to a heart attack would have remained uneventful, if not for the novel-worthy fighting between his legal wife Aleli Arroyo and his companion Grace Ibuna. Aleli, whose marriage to Iggy is being annulled, tried to bring Iggy’s body home from London, but was denied because the funeral recognized Grace as its client. Aleli was furious and called Grace “evil,” claiming that she “misrepresented herself as next of kin” by declaring that the annulment had been granted. It’s hard to take a side in this issue because both women have points: Aleli, after all, is Iggy’s legal wife, but Grace was there until he died, and it is curious why Aleli suddenly wants to be involved in the matter. It has been decided that Iggy’s daughter with his first wife, Marilyn Jacinto, will oversee the transfer next week. Seriously, that man has major swagger to make two women fight over him, even after he’s passed on.
Suspected Voyeurs Of The Week: Elorde Katipunan
Social networks have been ablaze with angry comments this past week and for good reason! Last Feb. 7, news arose of an anonymous female gym member in Elorde Boxing Gym in Katipunan who noticed holes in the ceiling of the women’s bathroom — one of which had a camera that was videotaping her. After further investigation, she noted that the management knew about this perverse practice and have been continuously passive about the entire issue. There has been no word from Elorde Gym in Katipunan as of yet, but they better say something soon or they’ll get a real taste of hell hath no fury like women scorned!
