Some tough denim
MANILA, Philippines - Before the jodhpurs, bondage skirts, and tapered pants, there was your good old pair of jeans. Sartorial options have expanded since then, but still, a classic, beautifully-tailored pair endures — because as fleeting as trends are, there are just some things that will remain timeless.
Form and function collide in Tough Jeansmith as it delivers denim designs that are as utilitarian as they are stylish. The brand, in keeping with its modern yet unique identity, releases styles that are industrial and hardwearing yet comfortable enough, while being able to smoothly transition from day to night—perfect for that ultimate understated appeal.
The first private Bauhaus label has been satiating the discriminating tastes of aficionados in Hong Kong since 1994, and since then has also extended its prowess to Mainland China, Macau, Taiwan, Russia, Singapore, United Arab Emirates, South Africa, Japan, Indonesia, Ukraine, Malaysia, and Thailand. And now, it has finally landed on our local shores.
Launched in Manila last July 28 at The Atrium, Shangri-La Mall Edsa, the event boasted a fashion show directed by Jackie Aquino, and showcased the urban flair of Tough Jeansmith through pieces topped by chic, smart layering. Capping the show was the introduction of the brand’s ambassadors: spunky international television host Joey Mead, senior PMAP model Patti Bettita, music meister Manolet Dario, top male model Luke Jickain, and global entrepreneur Atoy Llave.
