MANILA, Philippines - Philippine Fashion Week, the country’s premier fashion and lifestyle event, ushered in the next generation of young Filipino design talent as the School of Fashion and the Arts (SoFA) marked its first-ever graduation with a runway show featuring the notable works of this year’s graduating batch.
Comprised of Cassie Revereza, Melanie Lim, Kaye Morales, Fold Canela, Charinson Balalilhe, Mark Tamayo, Noelle Llave, Mikka Hernandez, and Kim Palma, SoFA’s fresh stash of emerging talents brought new energy to the forefront of fashion as each designer showcased his or her own unique vision on the runway, as witnessed by key industry personalities, members of the press, and families and friends.
“This is a celebration of SoFA’s commitment to nurturing creativity and passion for the arts, and most importantly, securing a bright future for our young and promising designers. It is our hope that this show will give them the much needed boost as they break into the local fashion scene,” said SoFA communications and admissions director Amina Aranaz-Alunan.
