Movement makes the world go round

- Tim Yap -

MANILA, Philippines - Nothing inspires us more than movement. The current mood for something different, culled from an artist’s core and transported into diverse media to be presented to a curious public fascinates me. For one, it promotes non-linear thinking and appreciation; and by doing so gives birth to a new culture — from a sub-culture — of new movers.

Jujiin Samonte, Shahani Gania, RCXY Bautista and their crew of avant-guardians started out in the scene as party hipsters that bridged the fashion and party circles. From finding a midpoint on how they choose to have fun, they’ve found an intersection for an artistic collaboration through music and film.

Last Saturday, Rajo Laurel — an artistic individual known for staging grand shebangs, chose to have an intimate viewing for clients and friends at his eponymous store House of Laurel. He was going to unveil his “La Latina” Spring/Summer 2010 collection entitled “Te Amarré Para Siempre.” He let go of the usual pomp and decided instead to whisper with a loud bang. He asked Jujiin, Shahani and RCXY to interpret his collection through their chosen medium. Multimedia that is.

What you are seeing on this Supreme page is the second part of what debuted in Supreme a month ago. The work of Jujiin Samonte, Shahani Gania, RCXY Bautista and an all-star cast and crew of dream weavers.
