MANILA, Philippines - Two entries from the Philippines have made it into the initial selection round of Uniqlo’s 2010 Cannes T-Shirt Design competition.
Uniqlo, the trendy Japanese clothing company whose website won a Grand Prix Lion in 2008, holds the competition every year. It received a few thousand entries last September for the 2010 contest. An official selection committee from the Cannes Lions Festival organizers will review the finalists, from which 20 designs will be produced as official UNIQLO products. Last year, the winning entries were deemed official festival tees and made available at Cannes. They could also be purchased at Uniqlo stores.
The Philippine entries were from JWT Manila’s Katrina Encanto and a designer by the name of Astromance.
Semi-finalists will be announced in February.
