Beer lovers, unite!

MANILA, Philippines - In keeping with the traditional Oktoberfest activities, Mandarin Oriental, Manila and The German Club of Manila once again recreate this month the revelry and splendor of a centuries-old Bavarian tradition. As is the custom of the world’s biggest outdoor festival, after two nights of unbridled gaiety and beer-drinking on Oct. 16 and 17 at the NBC Tent in Bonifacio Global City, the “beer tent” transforms into a virtual carnival for children and their parents on Oct. 18 at 10:30 a.m., so that children of all ages also have their time of day.

The Oktoberfest celebrations on Oct. 16 and 17, on the other hand, start at 6 p.m. and are marked with beer-drinking and yodeling competitions for male and female guests, respectively; the selection of a Miss Oktoberfest, and the chance to win prize trips to Munich on business class via Lufthansa German Airlines and Swiss International Airlines and other exciting prizes, in a fund-raising raffle organized by the German Club. On these nights, there is no limit to beer and feasting on a Bavarian spread of sausages, pig’s knuckles, salads, desserts and other specialties, as revelers bring home an Oktoberfest mug as a memento.

Tickets to the Family Oktoberfest are at P1,100, inclusive of unlimited food and beer. Children under 12 years accompanied by an adult are free of charge. Tickets to the evening events are offered at P2,350 with special prices offered for purchase of 24 or more tickets.
