Spotted: Mixing in Shanghai

Shanghai, China — Seen at the Pudong Expo in Shanghai enjoying a snifter of that snazzy and sexy spirit were media muggles Pepper Teehankee and JR Isaac with nightlife hall of famer Louie Ysmael. They were caught at the red carpet of the Hennessy “Global Art of Mixing” event with Moet Hennessy heavyweights Randy Uson and Dindo de Villa. At Hennessy, the scene and seen were all about mixing. From the lineup of performers, from blond ambitious DJ Havana Brown and cute as VJ Utt DJ Tom Price who jumpstarted the show, it was a musical orgy of top players from “big in Japan” American pop artist Krystal Meyers, Korean-American fusion of K pop and R&B with Lena Park, canto-pop mega star Mavis Fan, American rap artist Wyclef Jean who hails from Haiti, and Jay Chou, the biggest pop star in Asia now — they all mixed and matched, all in the name of that sip that makes you go ooh — capital H, please. Fast forward to the after-concert party at the Sky Bar, way up high on the 86th floor of the Grand Hyatt Pudong and the VIP guests still had the freedom to choose their concoction, whether it be Hennessy with apple, soda, ginger ale, and cola. My favorite was the mix with apple juice — one sip, and you’re sure to sin. Yum.Free time during the Shanghai winter slash pre-New Year’s was spent bar hopping, Pinoy-spotting, and Pinoy bonding. Truly, celebrating the “the global art of mixing.” XOXO.               —Tim Yap
