What’s on your wish list?
Christmas is truly the most wonderful time of the year for Pinoys. And as much as peace on Earth and good health for ourselves and our loved ones is at the top of our wish lists, it also feels great to receive a gift we’ve always wanted, but never had the chance to buy for ourselves. What is on the Christmas wish list of some of the most influential Pinoys of the year? Read on.
Cristalle Belo Pitt - Entrepreneur
“One major thing on my wish list this Christmas is to have my own horse! My husband Justin gifted me with a horse during my birthday in April. However, he kicked his stable, got injured and his bone would not heal properly. Doctors said it was degenerative and so we had to retire him in a farm. Justin and I both ride and it would be nice to see Hunter, and my future daughter, learn how to ride on our family horse!”
Sam Lee - Filmmaker
“Anyone who knows me knows that I love to read; and some of the books on my wish list are: The Immortalists by Chloe Benjamin and Tell the Wolves I’m Home, a novel by Carol Rifka Brunt and Florida Lauren Groff. My 2018 New Year’s resolution was to not read any books by straight white male authors and I think I’ll continue that for 2019.”
Joey Mead King - TV and events host
“On my wish list for any season is plants! Be it lush, indoor hanging vines, fuzzy ferns, or even small potted cacti that I can add to my bookshelf gardens. The oxygen and energy they provide is nourishing, and I believe it’s a wonderful and natural gift to receive or give. During gift-giving seasons, I see so much waste of plastic, paper and unhealthy food — so I try to be mindful of our health and environment.”
Sam Gogna - Radio DJ, TV host
“I would love to own a nice, cozy couch. I’m currently in the process of building a house and it would be nice to have that as a key furniture piece. Maybe an L-shaped couch for the living room. And a good entertainment system, too!”
Xandra Rocha Araneta - Entrepreneur
“As a Christmas gift for myself, I would love a full-on skincare pampering session and assessment. I’ve heard rave reviews about Belo’s Hydrofacial and Cinderella Drip! Since my second son has self-weaned, my milk supply has dropped suddenly so my hormones have been fluctuating and adjusting again. I usually have good skin, but now I’m breaking out and my skin looks dull. I was really going to say I don’t need anything at all, and that I have all I could ever want with my boys and husband... but when forced to really think of it, I have lots of wants pala! Ha-ha!”
Atom Araullo - Journalist
“I would like a nice, camel-colored, full-grain leather belt. Something that will last many years!”
Alex Eduque - Founder, MovEd Org
“An open-dated South African safari trip I can go on with my nearest and dearest to unplug and recharge as I’ve never been to another place as relaxing, but still so mindful. Either that, or a year’s supply of Lush bath bombs — they’re called Ballistics — because it’s a guilty pleasure to use them on a regular basis, and a treat for me to use them and unwind with at the end of a long day. Throw some massage bars in there as well. At the end of the day, there’s no real price on proper relaxation.”
Sonny Thoss - PBA player
“My Christmas wish is to enjoy this Christmas break with my family out of the country. For a PBA player, this is something very hard to come by. I am hoping to bring them to Japan because the family loves it there, and it will be the first time for the kids to experience snow.”
Vania Romoff - Fashion designer
“I would like to own a watch. I unfortunately lost all my jewelry recently. I’m okay with not owning much jewelry for now, and at least I still have my wedding ring and engagement ring, but I think I need a watch. A Cartier Tank Solo is on my wish list this year. I’ve been saving up for it for a while now.”
Rio de la Cruz - Entrepreneur and running coach
“I’ve actually been building our family home for a year and six months now. It would be the perfect Christmas gift for me and my family to have it done before the year ends!”
