Pedro Guevara Memorial High School Class ’68 sets grand reunion

MANILA, Philippines - The 1968 Class of Pedro Guevara Memorial High School in Sta. Cruz, Laguna is preparing  for its golden homecoming on Feb. 17-18, 2018 at the Cultural Center of Laguna on the first day and at a local resort (to be announced) on the second day.

The grand reunion kicks off with registration at 6:30 a.m., followed by a parade with a marching band and a program that will feature group performances, a tribute to former high school teachers, raffle draws, games and lots of chikahan with former classmates and old friends. The daytime activities will end 5 p.m. Those who would like to perform are advised to contact Ma. Luisa “Lulu” Raz-Natividad at 0918-479-6526. Raffle prizes may be pledged or submitted to her as well. At 7 p.m., there will be a Seniors Ball with dinner, complete with a live band, courtesy of classmates living abroad. Spouses and/or partners are welcome to attend the party. Attire is semi-formal or Sunday’s best.

Happening on Feb. 18 is a group picnic at a local resort (TBA). There may be a videoke challenge if the machine at the resort is available; prizes are at stake.

The Ad Hoc Committee members is headed by Henry Lim, grand reunion chairman and class president. The souvenir program will feature photos of the reunion’s two-day activities, messages from local officials, “then” and “now” photos of alumni, a tribute to classmates who have passed on, etc. For details, contact Heidi Manabat-Pascual at 0929-2488315 or heidipascual2016@yahoo.com.

A special project of Batch ’68 is the scholarship fund for poor but deserving students of Pedro Guevara Memorial National High School who have been selected and are already part of the school’s assistance program. Any pledge or contribution to this project will be appreciated.
