Festive fashion inspired by the City of Lights

MANILA, Philippines – “If Paris were a person, it would be a woman,” someone once said. The City of Lights' exquisite beauty, the kind found by Parisians in every corner of their city, is brought to life in Rosanna Ocampo's latest holiday collection, 24 Hours in Paris. The designer creates a personal tribute to the city that inspires us all to fall in love, over and over again.

The designer recently unveiled a stunning collection of pieces that merge the elegant French aesthetic with her vibrant Filipino talent. Faithful to her taste, the pieces are a perfect combination of coy and chic. Cocktail dresses and pantsuits with feminine bows and playful prints effortlessly transport women to mornings at the Tuileries Garden while layered skirts with suggestive hemlines and soft pleating are reminiscent of evening strolls along Avenue des Champs-Élysées.

“There's an energy in certain places that is electric and you are just consumed by it. Paris does that for me and I wanted to focus on the romantic swirl of heady emotions that I feel when absorbing their culture, architecture, and people,” Ocampo reveals.

But it is the formal wear that serves as the shining light of her 2015 holiday collection. Using the city’s inarguably famous ability to elicit romance as her muse, the formal wear is an ethereal combination of intricate laces, luxurious satin and delicate silk, draped to perfection and dusted with decadent details, elements that come together to evoke the right amount of drama. “Paris is always a feast for the senses and I wanted to translate that to the movement and details of my pieces,” Ocampo confides.

“It was a poignant coincidence that my collection was unveiled the day after the terror attacks,” Ocampo elaborates, emphasizing that the beloved city will always be a symbol of hope for the world despite the recent current events. “In this way I dedicate the entire collection to the innocents whose lives were lost that fateful night and for each individual who espouses peace and value freedom.”
