Toyota presents award-winning Budapest Operetta and Musical Theater

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Toyota Classics, the automotive manufacturer’s signature corporate social responsibility (CSR) program in arts and culture, will be held on Oct.16, at The Theatre, Solaire Resort and Casino.

The 26th Toyota Classics showcases the internationally acclaimed Hungarian theater company Budapest Operetta and Musical Theatre, which will perfrom in seven Asian countries including the Philippines.

The Budapest Operetta and Musical Theatre is led by its conductor maestro La?szlo? Makla?ry, winner of Artisjus Prize and the Honored Artist of Hungary. Key singers include Anita Luka?cs, Zsolt Vada?sz Gergely Boncse?r, Mo?nika Fischl, Szilvi Szendy and Da?vid Szabo?.

Toyota Classics has held over 184 sell-out classical concerts in Asia in the last 25 years and helped promote classical music in these countries. Toyota Classics’ tagline, “Music that Moves Lives,” encapsulates its objective and spirit, which is to enrich lives through the appreciation of classical music.

Last year, the Toyota Classics in the Philippines donated its proceeds to Plan International, a child-centered humanitarian organization, bannering education, child health, child protection and youth engagement. A total of P3 million was committed to Yolanda rehabilitation, which was twice the amount of the P1.5 million ticket proceeds for the event — the highest grossing concert so far,  for the Manila leg of the Toyota Classics.
