Lita Alejar-Faustino turns 84

MANILA, Philippines - Lita Alejar-Faustino, mother of prolific songwriter Tats Faustino and musical director Mon Faustino, celebrated her 84th birthday with a lunch buffet at Manila Polo Club’s Cameron Forbes. Mama Lita to 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, the celebrant wore an outfit from her sister Evelyn Alejar-Tuazon, who is based in LA, and accentuated it with a Banana Republic necklace given by her daughter-in-law Babic Flores-Faustino, an executive at Enchanted Kingdom. To complete the look, her hair and makeup were done by Jo Anne Medina of Ponytail Salon. Aside from Tats and Mon, the sumptuous buffet was hosted by Lita’s other children — Emy, also a songwriter; Lito, who is in Canada; Tek and Ding, both professional musicians who play for OPM icon Gary V; Ricky, who works at Glades International; and Ylette, who works at Kidzania, a children’s park that will open soon.  Guests included Lita’s co-Rhapsody Club members, balikbayan friends, her co-graduates from UST Pharmacy, and some of her closest friends. Adding more fun to the event was the guests’ impromptu rendition of old favorite songs.
