Dane Mancao & Monicca Domingo: A love story sealed in Santorini

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - After graduating at the top of his high school class, Dane Mancao moved to Manila in 2002. The only son of Dr. Aitoy and Daisy Mancao left his hometown Cebu to attend Ateneo de Manila University.

In the same year, Monicca Domingo, the eldest daughter of Bibot and Ria Domingo, also entered Ateneo.

Despite being in the same batch and having many common friends, Dane and Monicca’s paths never crossed while they were in school.

In March 2007, a year after they graduated, Dane and Monicca were set up on a date by Aaron Co, a  common friend from college. They instantly clicked because of many shared interests (especially their love of travel and dogs), and became a couple months later. They continued to date for six years.

In May 2013, the couple traveled to Greece to attend a friend’s wedding. They toured various cities and visited several islands. On the last stop of their tour, which was in Santorini, Dane took Monicca to one of the island’s highest spots and asked her to be his wife.

Since Greece had become a memorable place for the couple, they chose to have a Greek-themed wedding last July 5, surrounded by their closest family and friends. The bride wore a gown by Francis Libiran during the ceremony which was held at St. Alphonsus Mary de Liguori Parish in Magallanes. At the reception, decorated and styled by Jing Taneda, guests enjoyed a 20-tier cake by Bizu, and, even sweeter, a day filled with love, laughter and fun.
