Mary Mediatrix of All Grace Parish Church and Capilla de San Jose blessed and dedicated
MANILA, Philippines - The Parish Church in honor of Our Lady Mary Mediatrix of All Grace in Antipolo del Norte, Lipa City was solemnly dedicated by Gaudencio Cardinal Rosales, Archbishop Emeritus of Manila and Most Rev. Ramon C. Arguelles, D.D., Archbishop of Lipa. The church stands on a 1.2 hectare property donated by Danny Dolor in memory of his parents, Leon Dolor and Soledad Lirio Dolor.
This Spanish baroque church intricately designed by Fr. Alex Bautista, priest-architect, took three years to build.
The present parish priest of Mary Mediatrix of All Grace Parish Church, Fr. Wilfredo Rosales, has initiated several activities to inject dynamism and involvement from the parishioners in the community.
Government officials headed by Batangas Governor Vilma Santos Recto, Lipa Mayor Meynard Sabili, and Congressman Dong Mendoza, former Batangas Governor and Mrs. Vicente Mayo graced the event.
Capilla de San Jose, part of the La Soledad Educational Cultural Historical complex, was similarly blessed by Cardinal Rosales. The 13-foot wooden statue of San Jose de Labrador (St. Joseph the Worker) was a gift to Danny Dolor by the former Vicar General of Lipa, Monsignor Domingo Librea.
Every Sunday, Capilla de San Jose is open to churchgoers and the public for personal prayer and meditation.
Interestingly, the Mary Mediatrix of All Grace Parish Church is just a kilometer away from the Convent of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, the popular apparition site where in September 1948 Mary Mediatrix appeared in a vision to Teresita Castillo, then a novice. This apparition was followed by showers of rose petals. Since then this place has become a popular pilgrimage site for Marian devotees.
