Cristina Galang-Caedo is new FCCP president
MANILA, Philippines - The Friends of Cultural Concerns of the Philippines recently inducted its newly elected board members and officers at the Santuario de San Antonio parish hall.
The new board is composed of Cristina Galang-Caedo, president; Rose Marie B. Lazaro, vice president; Lyn Liboro, secretary; Karen Macasaet, treasurer; Mabel Abaño, Lili Adina, Yolanda Ayson, Nonie Basilio, Martin Lopez, Baby de Jesus, Letty Hahn, Rosita Lesaca, Margie Ortiz Luis, Nene Pe Lim and Tessie Rodrigo, board members.
Special guest was Rep. Lucy Torres-Gomez who received from FCCP its donation of motorboats to the constituents of Ormoc, one of the many places ravaged by typhoon Yolanda.
The FCCP was founded in 1979 with a vision to enhance and positively impact the lives of people through the arts. Among its projects are scholarship grants to outstanding students in the performing and visual arts, such as its scholars at the University of the Philippines College of Music and Arts, the University of Sto. Tomas and St. Paul’s College. It also has programs that bring arts — such as classic and contemporary ballet, folk dance and music — to public and private schools. It disseminates information about season performances of leading cultural groups and conducts trips to provinces to visit heritage houses, centuries-old cathedrals and museums, and watch cultural shows.
