MANILA, Philippines - Vikings Buffet chef Anton Abad and his team showcased the Philippines delectable dishes at the 4th Nanyang Culture Festival in Xiamen, China.
The biennial event was jointly hosted by the Department of Foreign Affairs of Xiamen and the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand.
This year, all ASEAN countries (including Laos, Cambodia, Burma, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, Philippines and Indonesia) attended the cultural event. Each country was given an opportunity to showcase its cuisines and products in different hotels within Xiamen City.
Chef Anton Abad and his team from Vikings Luxury Buffet were chosen by the Philippines to represent the country.
During the week-long event, guests of Yeohwa Hotel showed interest in Filipino dishes such as kare-kare, inihaw na baboy, chicken inasal, sugpo sa taba ng talangka, and adobo prepared by chef Anton.
