Carlo Orosa is an accomplished recording artist and stage actor who has garnered recognition both for his music and acting. He was nominated in three separate categories at the prestigeous Awit Awards and later invited to judge the 22nd Annual Awit Awards in 2004 and again in 2008.
Though known primarily as a pop singer, as a veteran actor he has done lead and supporting roles for musicals such as Joseph The Dreamer, First Name, Honk, The Lion The Witch and the Wardrobe, The Little Mermaid and very recently N.O.A.H. (No Ordinary Aquatic Habitat) for Trumpets.
Currently participating in The Producers for Repertory, I asked Carlo to share some of his favorite books.
1. The Good Earth by Pearl S. Buck. “The way the text was written makes you taste, smell, feel and see what it was like in China during that period.â€
2 Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck â€I love a story of how friendships between contrasting characters are tested in times of crisis.â€
3. The Bible. “I can’t live without the words that bring life love and power.â€
4. The Secret by Rhonda Byrne. “My eyes were opened to the great wonders and mysteries of the human mind and spirit.â€
5. The Power of Intention by Dr. Wayne Dyer. “I am overwhelmed by how our minds were created by God; this book reveals so much power and so many truths. We are truly divinely created.â€
