Jovel Yorro & Mary Grace Arban Long-distance love affair
MANILA, Philippines - Jovel P. Yorro, son of Engr. Virgilio and Evelyn Yorro, and a BS in Information Technology graduate, came home from Winnipeg, Canada to marry his sweetheart, Mary Grace A. Arban, daughter of Edgardo and Neria Arban and an electronics and communications engineering graduate.
The couple met at TDK-Fujitsu Philippine Corporation where Jovel was yield process technician while Grace was quality assurance engineer. Jovel left for Canada when his visa was approved, but distance was not a hindrance to their relationship. They were married last July 30 at afternoon rites at Iglesia ni Cristo Chapel, San Marcos, San Pablo City. Reception followed at Samland Villa in Calauan, Laguna.
Jamayel Dumama & Ammarah-Sahara Biruar A Joyful Muslim Wedding
Jamayel Dumama, brother of Cotabato City councilor Graham Dumama, is set to marry Ammarah-Sahara Biruar, daughter of former Parang, Maguindanao Vice Mayor Adnan Chua Biruar and Athena Jhanima Montaner, on Sunday, Sept. 8.
The wedding rites will be followed by a joyous celebration of kanduli to be held at the Southseas Mall Grand Ballroom in Cotabato City.
The groom’s mother Bai Susan Guiani-Dumama is the daughter of the late Commission on Elections (Comelec) Commissioner Japal Guiani.
Ammarah-Sahara will wear a white modern romantic bridal gown designed by Wilfred Yee, Cotabato’s best designer, and enhanced by Swarovski crystals, pearls, beads, and sequins. Jamayel and Ammarah-Sahara’s union is among the most highly anticipated marriages in the Islamic community this year, as the couple both come from well-respected families in Mindanao.

Hera Angela Pagalilauan
Hera Angela M. Pagalilauan turns 18 on Wednesday, Sept. 4. She will celebrate her birthday with a Grecian-inspired debutante’s ball at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza Hotel on Sept. 7. Hera is a sophomore at the University of the Philippines Diliman taking up BS Biology. She is the daughter of United Laboratories executive Hector R. Pagalilauan and businesswoman Juanita Joy Manibog-Pagalilauan. Her gown is designed and executed by Edward Teng and Boyet Dysangco.
