The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Handsome volumes, those catalogues are.

We are talking about the companion book to the “Philippines: Archipel des échanges (An Archipelago of Exchange)” exhibition at Musée du Quai Branly.

Senator Loren Legarda, chair of the Senate Committee on Cultural Communities and Committee on Foreign Relations, has sponsored the translation to English of the exhibition catalogue, which will be distributed to all state universities and colleges for Filipino students to see and appreciate.

“We are bringing Filipino artistry, craftsmanship, and heritage to the world audience,” says Senator Legarda about the Branly exhibition.

She explains that the exhibition, which is a partnership project between France and the Philippines, is another opportunity to create awareness of the rich Philippine heritage within the international community.

“Through this, we reaffirm our commitment to  promote Filipino artisanship, uphold traditions that give meaning to our identity, and express pride in our unique history,” Senator Legarda concludes.
