Relics of St. Therese of the Child Jesus in farewell Mass
MANILA, Philippines - Devotees are invited to join veneration rites for the third Philippine visit of the pilgrim relics of St. Thérèse of the Child Jesus.
The Military Ordinariate of the Philippines (MOP), along with the national organizing committee, spearhead the final line up activities at the Shrine of St. Thérèse of the Child Jesus in Newport Boulevard, Pasay City before the relics are brought back to France.
The relics are set to arrive at the Shrine at 5:30 p.m. on April 11. There will be a Mass to be presided by Bishop Leopoldo S. Tumulak, the military bishop. Veneration will follow the Mass until 10 p.m.
Everyone is invited to the 6 p.m. anticipated Sunday Mass on April 13. The Mass will be followed by a candlelight procession along the Villamor community. Members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Carmelite communities, religious organizations and devotees are expected to attend.
The farewell Mass will be celebrated at 5 p.m. on April 14. A tribute program at the Shrine will follow to give thanks for all the blessings received through the intercession of St. Thérèse and to acknowledge the support and assistance given by the participating archdioceses and dioceses, as well as the generous sponsors and partners of the visit.
The relics of St. Thérèse are expected to depart the country and make their way to Lisieux, France, at around midnight of April 14.
