‘Shimmer in Time’ with The Philippine STAR and Swatch

MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine STAR and Swatch celebrate the Year of the Snake with the Annual Chinese New Year competition. The theme this year is “Let’s twist, curl and Swatch it!” Participants must submit an actual wrap-around fashion entry on or before Feb. 2.

Designer Chris Jasler Ubaldo merged an eccentric, black wrap-around lace dress beaded with clear crystals and a gold foil spandex dress. His creation is called “Shimmer in Time.” He believes that the Year of the Snake brings prosperity. The black dress presents the snake, and the gold dress signifies fortune. Jasler explains, “By combining them in one piece means that this Year of the Snake is about prosperity in our lives.”

Jasler’s Swatch inspiration for this creation is the Swatch Dreamnight Yellow watch.
