‘Recycle. Feed. Run.’ is theme of Tetra Pak event

MANILA, Philippines - More than 2,000 runners joined to stay fit and help make a change during the recently concluded Tetra Pak Recycle. Feed. Run. event at the Bonifacio Global City, Taguig, last Nov.18.

The event, organized by Tetra Pak Philippines, Inc. in cooperation with Hypersports Philippines, was a first of its kind for Tetra Pak, the innovative company which has been providing packaging and processing solutions to leading Food and Beverage companies that manufacture ready-to-drink (RTD) milk, juice and beverages.

Participants of the event included fitness and running enthusiasts who joined the race which  had four categories: 3K, 5K, 10K and 21K, with 21K having the most number of participants.

In line with the theme of recycle-feed-run, participants of the event were able to do their share in caring for the environment and helping underprivileged children. Participants who joined the event brought at least two empty and clean Tetra Pak cartons for recycling when they registered. Aside from contributing to recycling, participants were able to help feed-a-child with milk too since all the Tetra Pak cartons received from the participants during the registration were matched by Tetra Pak and its dairy customer partners with a donation of ready-to-drink milk in Tetra Pak cartons to a chosen foundation under the Tetra Pak Feed-a-Child program.

The Tetra Pak dairy customer partners who have contributed to the joint milk donation to the chosen foundation for the Tetra Pak RFR event include Alaska Milk Corporation, Delfi Foods Inc., Magnolia Inc, Nestle Philippines Inc. and RFM Corporation.

One of highlights of the event was the ceremonial donation turnover for the milk donation to the chosen foundation which was witnessed by the runners and was led by Tetra Pak Malaysia, Singapore and Philippines managing director Gaine Clarke, who presented a Certificate of Donation with P250,000 worth of milk in Tetra Pak cartons to the Mother Teresa, Missionaries of Charity official representatives Abigail Amoncio and Tinnette Nisce. Also present at the donation turnover were Jojo Guintu, Tetra Pak commercial director and general manager and Tess Raymundo, Tetra Pak communications and environment manager. The donation will benefit the underprivileged children under the care of the foundation.
