Dear nanay,
Good evening. This is in response to your letter sender Mr. Lonely and Struggling. I don’t see any reason why you can’t move on from your past, I also experienced the same thing when I was in grade school, from a cousin of my mom. If you are surrounded by a loving and supportive family, nothing can go wrong. I didn’t dwell on the thought of what happened to me or sulk in self-pity. I went on with my life to always be productive and whatever happens to me in the past, I surrender everything to God. Until now there are males who run after me and admire me and I try to talk to them in a nice way and just befriend them. I didn’t take revenge on them for what happened to me. You should discern what will make you happy and ignore the bad stuff. Life is wonderful to enjoy with positive things and people around you especially if God is with you. — J
Dear nanay,
I am a very busy person and it was only now that I am able to read last Sunday’s paper. And I’m glad I did. I read the story of Mr. Lonely and Struggling and I felt such a strong urge to write this response.
Nanay, I would like to invite Mr. Lonely and Struggling to “The Feast,” a weekly prayer gathering of the Light of Jesus (LOJ) Family led by Bro. Bo Sanchez. I am sure you are aware this amazing man was also a victim of child molestation. He wrote about it in his book, Your Past Does Not Define Your Future. But despite this difficult chapter in Bro. Bo’s life, he is now healed, very happy, and has great relationships with others and with the Lord. I can feel Mr. Lonely’s pain. I have been blessed so much when I joined LOJ. I have met people whose stories are very much similar to Mr. Lonely’s. But you know what? I am proud to say that these people, despite their painful past, are able to smile again and are on their way towards healing.
It’s amazing. Mr. Lonely says he does not have any friends. I encourage him to join a caring group in LOJ. He will be in the company of people who will listen and not judge, give support, and most of all, much needed love.
I am praying for him. I know that God will not forsake him and will grant him mercy and healing.— GRACE
