The art of mixing Hennessy, music and fun
MANILA, Philippines - Manila’s partyphiles came out in full force for Hennessy Artistry’s third year in the city. The crowd swelled to the thousands — it was probably the biggest crowd to ever party with the world’s leading cognac. Hennessy outdid itself once again this year to celebrate the global art of mixing world-class talents and upcoming artists.
As always, the collaboration between some of the most cutting-edge and established names in the international and local music scene raised the party levels to a totally different high. From the time VIPs entered the venue with their all-access passes to the time the party came to a spectacular close in the wee hours of the morning, it was a five-star deluxe experience from beginning to end.
Globally renowned artist Jermaine Dupri teamed up with local artists such as Up Dharma Down, Champ, Frencheska Farr and Robin Nievera to create the latest blend of music and experience for the select partygoers at Opus in Resorts World Manila.
The stage was on fire as new acts were introduced. SINYMA, made up of Silverfilter, Nyko Maca and Madz Abubakar, performed mostly original compositions much to the delight of the Hennessy-fueled crowd. They shared the spotlight with DJ Joey Santos who made sure that the two thousand strong partyphiles were kept on their feet with new beats. Not to be ignored were DJs Nix Pernia and Ace Ramos’ tunes that provided the perfect backdrop for the most spectacular musical event of the year.
Frencheska Farr’s strong vocals brought out the best in current club scene tunes Laserlight, Titanium and Domino. Champ collaborated with Abdel Aziz, Robin Nievera and Mark Escueta on hits by Beyonce, Coldplay and Temper Trap. Robin Nievera kept the crowd in awe with his guitar prowess and his vocal chops. Percussionist Mark Escueta kept the beat going with his masterful skills. Always the crowd pleaser, Up Dharma Down had everyone screaming for more as they pumped up the crowd with their own popular hits.
With mixologists all around, there was a constant flow of apple, berry, ginger ale and citrus to keep the party going. Soon after, the crowd was happily grooving to the collaboration performance of the summer hit “Henny and Ginger Ale.” Reggae-inspired Artstrong and hype master Dash Calzado set up the stage for the evening’s main act — international hip-hop sensation Jermaine Dupri.
Hennessy Artistry and its guiding philosophy of “The Global Art of Mixing” was in full display on stage as top talents and upcoming artists wove their acts together to create an “out of this world” experience. Just like Hennessy’s art of blending both cognac and music — it was a heady and exhilarating combination.
