MANILA, Philippines - F’g Freshgear brand ambassadors Alodia and Ashley Gosiengfiao treated their fans to a meet-and-greet session at the recent Philippine Toys, Hobbies, and Collectibles Convention or ToyCon 2012.
The popular teen cosplayers served as judges for the event’s cosplay competition; gave away F’g jackets to the winners of the ToyCon’s special trivia segment, which they facilitated; distributed F’g posters, and took part in photo ops with their meet-and-greet winners.
“What I love about ToyCon is that it is not just all about anime and cosplay but it also caters to gamers, photographers and toy collectors,” said Alodia.
“The number of attendees grows every year. More and more people are becoming aware of the event, and the costumes of the cosplayers are always improving,” Ashley added.
Alodia said meeting fans is always one of the highlights of her ToyCon experiences. “I enjoy meeting fans because now I get to put faces to some of them who send me messages on Twitter, Facebook and TinierMe.”
F’g, one of ToyCon 2012 sponsors, also offered up to 70 percent off on jeans, jackets and shirts. The innovative teen retail brand likewise provided custom-made ecobags for ToyCon participants and launched its official Twitter account (@FreshGearArmy), where the first 100 followers were given exclusive Freshgear gift packs.
“F’g items are very versatile — you can look girly and you can look rocker cool depending on the accessories you match with it,” said Alodia. “I once wore a green army dress from F’g and paired it with brown boots and a green beret. I wasn’t cosplaying any particular character but my ensemble looked really cool.”
Ashley added: “I usually add a more rocker feel to most of my F’g outfits using studs, leather and metal accessories. I also try to layer pieces on top of the other as much as I can.”
Tessa Ringor, marketing manager of Jeanology, the company behind F’g Freshgear, shared that it was the brand’s second time to take part in the much-awaited annual event for toy collectors, hobbyists, and enthusiasts.
“Freshgear continues to support ToyCon because it shares with it the same market of bold, hip and expressive individuals who, just like brand ambassadors Alodia and Ashley, have no reservations about showing the world who they are and what they love; and whose lifestyles are all about daring to stand out in everything they do.”
