Martial law remembered anew
Manila, Philippines - Anvil Publishing, the University of the Philippines National College of Public Administration and T’bak Inc. will launch the book Tibak Rising: Activism in the Days of Martial Law on July 21, 4 p.m., at UP Diliman.
Book editor Ferdinand C. Llanes writes, “The work brings together distinct personal experiences of political activists in the time of martial law and these stories have been put together to remind society of the lessons of a turbulent past, the dark side of which continues to assert itself in the present.”
Contributors include Rep. Romeo Candazo, theater and film director Behn Cervantes, consultant Sylvia de la Paz, writer Gilda Cordero Fernando, ASEAN advisor Robert Francis Garcia, artistic director Paul Alexander Morales, Joel Rocamora, Prof. Judy Taguiwalo, and columnist Ma. Ceres P. Doyo.
The book is available in the Philippine history section of bookstores nationwide.
