Manila's Best Dressed shine for charity

Manila, Philippines -  “Glamour and Elegance with a Heart” was the theme of the 12th Manila’s Best Dressed (MBD) Gala Awards Night held recently at the Dusit Thani Hotel. Men and women of distinction were recognized for their fashionable style as well as their outstanding leadership and contribution to society.

MBD Woman of Style 2010 awardee Olga Severino Martel set the tone of the evening by emphasizing that “beauty is not in the face, beauty is a light in the heart.” The Gala Awards night also raised   funds for BayaniJuan sa Calauan, a relocation center for displaced informal dwellers from the Estero de Paco; and scholars of the Romblon State University.

Consul of Gambia Agnes Huibonhoa, an astute entrepreneur and philanthropist, received the prestigious MBD Woman of Substance 2011 Award dressed in Auggie Cordero. The MBD Woman of Style 2011 Award was given to glamorous Virginia Lane, who glowed in a yellow confection by Jeannie Goulbourn.   People Asia publisher Babe Romualdez received the Man of Style 2011 Award.

The Best Dressed awardees were Marivic Madrigal Vazquez, Katrina Ponce Enrile, Dr. Aivee Aguilar Teo and Dr. Z Chen Teo, Rep. Fatima Aliah Dimaporo, Rep. Linabelle Ruth Villarica, Kim Lokin, Pitang Tiongson, Rema Ohno, Baby de Jesus, Mache Torres, Jose Mari Treñas, George Yang, Noel Gonzalez and David Ackerman.

The Manila’s Best Dressed Awards was founded by Karr Marin who is the current chairman.
