Fil-Canadians celebrate UST's 400th year
MANILA, Philippines - Proud Thomasians living in Ontario, Canada recently celebrated the 400th anniversary of their alma mater, University of Santo Tomas, in a nostalgic affair held last Oct. 29 at DoubleTree by Hilton. Opening the quadricentennial celebration organized by the UST Alumni Association of Ontario, Canada was the singing of O Canada, followed by the Philippine National Anthem and the UST Hymn. Guests were treated to a colorful parade of banners representing each college in UST. After dinner, the Filipino-Canadian Thomasians happily shared a huge cake done in the university’s gold and white colors with the 400th year design to cap an evening full of fond memories.
