Being a sexy man isn’t all about looks. You would get bored if a guy only had his looks to show you. Sexiness in a man is the whole package — including, aside from his looks, his intelligence, so you can carry on good conversations any time of the day; success in his chosen field whatever it may be; the way he treats a woman (with respect) is also so important; and of course a bonus would be financial stability (but not too much money, or you’ll have a lot of girls running after him!). Inspired by the newly launched Esquire Philippines magazine, I asked some of the prettiest women that night to answer who, for them, is the sexiest man alive.

I can’t choose! Johnny Depp, George Clooney, Ryan Gosling and Zac Efron and Kuya Kim!

Hayden Christensen. He’s tall, has a toned body, and when he played Anakin Skywalker, he was, in my opinion, his sexiest: he was a man in love… in fact driven crazy by love. But he always had a dark side to him — and that mystery is always sexy. But above Anakin is Niko Del Rosario because he’s my boyfriend so he has to be the sexiest. Tall, toned and romantic. But what makes him hotter than his physical appearance is his personality: he’s funny, supportive, and cares about me to bits! He is always there at the right moment.

Many people have heard the typical description of a sexy man as tall, dark and handsome. These traits, to me, are well and good, but are not the primary things that I look for. What attracts me most, and what I find sexiest in a man, comes down to their faith, passion, drive, attitude, humor and chivalry. I like seeing someone with direction and focus, who knows how to balance their time between work and family, who has a positive outlook and holds himself up when things go wrong; someone who stays true to their values and is nothing short of a gentleman. Having wit and a good sense of humor to top it all off is always a plus, and definitely sexy.

The sexiest man for me would have to be Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Aside from his mysteriously intriguing look, he has a nonchalant aura that makes him so interesting. The most important thing one must possess in order to be considered sexy is confidence, and not the pretentious kind. Based on what I know, Joseph Gordon-Levitt is comfortable with who he is; he doesn’t try to conform to society’s trends. And when a guy is assured of himself and sticks to what he believes in, that’s what makes him truly and utterly sexy.

I think one of the sexiest men alive is Kaka. Kaka or Ricardo Izecson dos Santos Leite is an attacking midfield footballer who currently plays for the Spanish club Real Madrid and the Brazilian National team. I find him so sexy not just because he’s both good-looking and talented (not only is he one of the best footballers playing the game today, he also sings and writes songs for his wife!), but above all, I find Kaka sexy because of how, since November 2004, he has served as an Ambassador Against Hunger for the UN World Food Program, the youngest to do so at the time of his appointment. The “I Belong to Jesus” T-shirt he wears under his jersey and the words “God Is Faithful,” stitched onto the tongues of his boots are just icing on the cake.

For me the sexiest man alive is Taylor Lautner! And Aljur Abrenica!

Johnny Depp. He’s charming, sophisticated, and lives in France.

That would have to be Jared Leto. Because he’s so versatile; he can go from being an actor to being in a band, not to mention he’s got great vocals and great style, which is just such a turn-on. I didn’t get to watch (Leto’s band) 30 Seconds to Mars when they were here, and it’s one of my biggest regrets to not see his hair and chiseled-to-perfection features. There you go.
