We'll always have Paris

- Bea J. Ledesma -

MANILA, Philippines - Now that she’s single, the reality TV star is in the mood to mingle.

“She asked me about the party scene,” Bea Constantino, who styled the heiress, tells Philippine Star. “She wanted to know if there were cute guys here. ”

At the welcome dinner hosted by the Paquiaos last Tuesday night, Hilton, who confirmed her breakup with nightlife entrepreneur Cy Waits last June, approached Belo scion Cristalle Henares. “We were chatting in the bathroom,” Henares says, “and she kept fixing her hair.” The heiress was in the mood to party and was asking Henares about local hotspots. “She kept saying, ‘I wanna go to the Office,’” Henares recalls with a laugh. “I told her, ‘I think you mean Opus, not Office.’”

Paris Wears Local Designers

At the shoot for Azure, the development she’s collaborating on with Century Properties, stylist Bea Constantino garbed the celeb in local designer wear. “She liked all the clothes,” Constantino discloses. “She was willing to wear everything.” Hilton was particularly fond of young designers Eric de los Santos, Rosanna Ocampo, Martin Bautista and Joel Escober.

At the press conference last Wednesday, the hotel heiress arrived in a slate-hued brocade shift by Joel Escober. “It had a sheer panel above in tulle,” Escober says.

Of the designers she favored, Hilton named two: “Rosanna Ocampo, I wore a lot of her dresses, they’re gorgeous. And Joel Escober I loved. He’s really talented. Those were two of my favorites.”

When approached for comment, Rosanna Ocampo replies, “It’s not every day a fashion icon, heiress and empire picks up my clothes. I’m over the moon and extremely flattered that she loves my pieces. Still trying to wrap my head around it.”

Hilton returned to LA with ensembles by numerous designers, including a printed assymetrical long gown, silk bustier draped gown and satinized jersey playsuit with pleated obi belt by Ocampo, an oriental print taffeta frock and a belted white lace number by Escober, along with pieces by Louis Claparols, Martin Bautista, Eric de los Santos and Arleen Sipat.

Style Progression

Hilton partied with Jinkee and Manny Pacquiao at a dinner the couple held in her honor Tuesday night. Jinkee’s style is “hot,” according to Hilton.

With a rapidly-expanding portfolio of projects and product lines under her belt, the blond businesswoman observes that her style has altered over the years to suit her new ventures.

“It’s definitely changed over the years. I’ve become more mature, changed the way I dress — become more sophisticated. When I was younger, I was very Barbie-ish. Now, it’s more businesswoman.” She pauses. “Sometimes.”

At the set of the Azure shoot, an observer noted that the celeb was leery of being photographed in a bikini on the beach-inspired set. The room was cleared while photographer Raymund Isaac shot Hilton in swimwear so the celeb could relax. “She was conscious of people taking cellphone camera pictures,” Constantino reveals.

What Paris Can’t Live Without

At the ribbon-cutting and opening of her boutique in SM Megamall last Friday, the tabloid staple divulges her style favorites in a sit-down interview. The red carpet fixture reveals the five things she can’t live without, listing “BlackBerry, iPhone, family and friends, high heels and water.”

And what trends does the hotel heiress love?

“I love Paris Hilton handbags,” she declares, “and really high heels.”
