Eiga Sai brings together film and culture enthusiasts at The Shang

-

MANILA, Philippines - In celebration of the Philippines-Japan Friendship Month, Shangri-La Plaza, in partnership with The Japan Foundation in Manila and the Embassy of Japan, played host to the highly anticipated Eiga Sai (Japanese Film Festival).

Now on its 13th year, the film fest reeled off with an invitational screening of the 81st Academy Award’s Best Foreign Language Film Departures (Okuribito). Present during the event were Ambassador of Japan Toshinao Urabe and Japan Foundation Manila director Shuji Takatori.

The screening was preceded by a special performance by Renato Lucas, principal cellist of the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra, together with the group’s acclaimed pianist Naomi Sison.

With the success of this year’s Eiga Sai, the metro’s preferred lifestyle destination has once again showcased its passion for culture and the arts, offering patrons and film aficionados cinematic pleasures that enthrall and inspire.
