The Catholic Women's Club holds Casa Y Jardin Bazaar
MANILA, Philippines – The Catholic Women’s Club (CWC) will hold its annual Casa Y Jardin Bazaar on Oct. 3 and 10, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Grand Ballroom of Hotel InterContinental Manila in Makati City.
This year’s featured item is the limited-edition porcelain plate by National Artist Vicente Manansala.
Casa Y Jardin boasts a wide range of products such as Christmas décor, branded clothes, export overruns, antique and jewelry pieces, houseware, bags, clothes, accessories, shoes and slippers, toys, among others. Visa and Mastercard credit cards will be accepted.
Also available are artworks by UP Fine Arts students and Tanay artists; and maids’ uniforms created by housewives from the Gawad Kalinga Community in Manila who underwent training under CWC’s initiative. CWC funded the building of a social hall and purchased sewing machines to provide employment opportunities.
Popular among shoppers is the Gold Elephant Table, which carries various items donated by CWC members. In partnership with Gawad Kalinga, CWC’s thrust for 2010 is to build at least 30 houses that will house marginalized families. Construction is almost finished.
Proceeds will go to CWC’s more than 60 charities like the Elsie Gaches Village, Alabang Hospice, and Good Shepherd, among others.
The Casa Y Jardin Bazaar committee, headed by CWC president Rose Lazaro, is composed of Nikki Valerio, chairperson; Ane Preysler, Terry Tambunting and Mimi Valerio, co-chairpersons; Nina Dizon, Tessie Rodrigo, Letty Hahn, Nonie Basilio, Shirley Uy, Nenuca Blardony, Baby Gloria, Mely Magsino, Nena Casimiro, Maritess Pineda, Lyn Liboro, Milo Bondoc, Mitzi Piad, Alice Dee, Asun Zubiri, Cecile Limjoco, Sol Tan Gatue, Baby de Villa, Evelyn Ranada, Carminia Mantecon, Chloe Periquet, Isabel Oriol, Menchie Pangle, Mabel Abaño, and Nene Leonor.
