I would like to write a book that will be awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature (laughs).
Dr. Antonio S. Abancan Jr., chairman, Metropolitan Bank & Trust Company; vice chair, Metrobank Group of Companies
I have been showered with so many blessings and I cannot ask for more. I have a great family and a successful career. But, if there is something else that I would still like to achieve, first on the list is to continuously stay in good health and have peace of mind. Additionally, I have always wanted to spend more quality time with my family. I look forward to every opportunity to travel with them especially with my two grandchildren. It gives me a different kind of fulfillment.
Designer Inno Sotto
Ambitious as this seems, I’d like to see my little boy Joseph Marco, who is now only two years old, graduate from college. And if I’m lucky, to see him walk down the aisle with his bride. That would be a proud moment and my greatest achievement.
Dr. Vicki Belo
As the years have gone by, I’ve seen a lot of my dreams fall to the wayside. I’ve come to terms with the fact that in my lifetime I probably won’t see my dream of making the Philippines one of the beauty capitals of the world like Paris, New York and Bangkok come true. I’ve been working on this for 20 years. Frankly, at this point, I am devoting my life to achieving my soul’s illumination.
Karen Davila, TV and radio anchor
I have been blessed with a fulfilling 17 years on television. At the age of 39, I pray that God will direct me to what best way I will be effective in making a positive change. I want to do a program that shows my advocacies. I love being a mom and a wife, too. My priority is loving people around me and building rich intimate relationships. That for me is a major achievement.
Sylvia Lichauco de Leon, president, Lola Grande Foundation for Women and Children, Inc.
I plan to do all I can in partnership with others for women and children, which includes health and sanitation, education, economic empowerment. But the big urgent issue right now is to tackle human trafficking. If we don’t, modern-day slavery will have a Filipino face. And we stand to lose P11 billion of US aid.
Martin Nievera, singer
Of the many, many dreams/prayers/achievements in life I have wanted to check off from my wish list, one is to live long enough to watch my three sons realize their every dream. I think that is more practical and doable than recording a hit with David Foster or hugging Ellen Degeneres on her TV show or driving through the streets of a new and improved Philippines.
Kim Atienza, TV personality
Nothing more. After this stroke, I want to take it slower. I want to love my wife Felicia and the children much, much more. I’d like to appreciate what God has given me. To live alone is a miracle but he gave me much, much more — a beautiful family, a beautiful job! Thank you, Lord, for life. Thank you, Lord, for my stroke.
Amy Perez, host, TV5’s Face to Face
I guess the only thing that I want to achieve at this point in my life is my annulment. Actually I could not ask for anything more because I’m so blessed with a good career, a good and loving partner who loves my son dearly as if he was the real father. One day, we still want to get married so that in the eyes of man, the law and God, ay maging OK na ang lahat. That’s the only one thing that Carlo and I pray for every night before we go to sleep.
Tina Maristela-Ocampo, creative director, Celestina, The Black Shop & I2i
A good friend once told me that a person should never say “I love you because you make me happy.” To be dependent on someone else’s love or happiness is never healthy. Pondering that thought for some time now, I realized that I have actually forgotten how to make myself genuinely happy on my own. So this time I want to achieve happiness within me — produced, scripted and directed by me. So, to achieve this, I want to learn how to cook, travel to places I’ve never been and eat their authentic food. Learn a language, play a violin, and perhaps paint. One day I want to write a book about life in a place were there is stillness.
