Century Tuna & Angel Locsin inspire healthy living

-

MANILA, Philippines - With the vision to strengthen its position as a health and wellness brand, market leader Century Tuna introduces the newest faces of its fit and active lifestyle campaign: TV and movie actress Angel Locsin and the 2010 Superbods winners.

“Century Tuna is keen on aggressively promoting a lifestyle of health and fitness among our consumers and we want to ensure that this thrust is fittingly represented by credible personalities that truly embody the Century Tuna healthy lifestyle. So it was an easy decision to choose Angel Locsin as our new image model as she has always been known as an active health and sports advocate,” said Angela Gamboa, Century Tuna senior product manager.

“Our new Superbods, meanwhile, have also been carefully selected to ensure that they personify a healthy mind and body, so they will be good role models among the youth today,” added Gamboa.

Angel Locsin and the 2010 Superbods join Century Corned Tuna endorser Derek Ramsay as the brand’s celebrity advocates of health and wellness.

Angel is regarded as one of Philippine showbiz’s most talented and sexiest female stars, who has made a name for herself as a dramatic actress in many hit teleseryes as well as an action princess in past fantasy and adventure-themed soaps. These days, she’s busy shooting for another must-see teleserye that will pair her with top actor John Lloyd Cruz.

Apart from her natural acting talent, it’s that gorgeous body that makes this 25-year-old actress so popular. There’s no surprise there as Angel is a natural sports lover just like Derek. She was actually a competitive swimmer before becoming a star, and is now actively pursuing challenging sports like muay thai, boxing and diving to help her maintain a fit and healthy body.

As Century Tuna’s new face, Angel has indeed turned from sexy to Superbod, one who is inspired to be the image of an active and healthy lifestyle. She shared: “Being a Century Tuna endorser is really a great honor. It’s a great opportunity to inspire others to adapt a healthy lifestyle.”

Joining Angel and Derek in helping promote health and wellness are the 2010 Superbods — four new faces of the healthy, active lifestyle who are ready to inspire their fellow youth to live healthy. The new Superbods are 18-year-old nursing student Lea Yosalina, 21-year-old psychology student Jillian Lua, 21-year-old TV host/model Renzie Ongkiko, and 23-year-old civil engineer Van Vincent Leaño.

Century Tuna introduced four new Superbods this year to reflect its commitment to aggressively spread the importance of a healthy lifestyle among Filipinos. The four bested hundreds of model hopefuls who lined up at the Superbods go-see conducted during the Century Tuna Superbods Run 2010 — the country’s biggest and most star-studded celebration of health and fitness.

The new Superbods were chosen for living up to the Century Tuna brand’s concept of total fitness — having not only a healthy body, but also a healthy mind.

As the new Superbods, the four are excited to help inspire the public to take up a healthy lifestyle. Lea and Renzie aim to instill the importance of sports and exercise. Jillian and Van Vincent, meanwhile, are keen at promoting healthy eating, particularly encouraging people to adapt a tuna diet to gain the benefits of Omega 3 DHA, which not only helps keep the body in shape but also helps keep a sharp mind.

As it introduces its new faces of the fit, active and healthy lifestyle, Century Tuna is poised to inspire and encourage Filipinos to start eating healthy, be involved in physical fitness and enjoy the best of health in the most delicious way.
