Thai fashion takes over Manila!

-

MANILA, Philippines - CPS Chaps, a popular fashion brand in Thailand, is now a hot item in the Philippines. Retail group Suyen Corporation introduced the brand in the Philippines last year with its first store at TriNoma. Now, a new store in Bonifacio High Street is opening in response to the clamor from Manila’s fashionable denizens.

CPS Chaps is currently holding a pre-opening sale at the Playground, third floor of Dimensione building in Bonifacio High Street, providing a sneak preview of what the brand offers before its official opening in its own boutique along the fashion strip. The event runs until March 31, 2010, and also features Lyn, its sister company from the Jaspal Group of Thailand. The high-end shoe and accessory brand showcases its collection of stylish pumps, party heels, casual flats and sandals for the ladies.

Discounts of up to 60 percent are offered on selected items.

Trend-based, CPS Chaps offers the latest in fashion trends of the current season. The store is replenished monthly with the newest runway hits, certainly not shying away from fashion-forward trends like dropped-crotch trousers, printed leggings, power shoulder jackets, chambray shirts, and tie-dyed jumpsuits. Their summer collection consists of an eclectic mix of themes — from rocker chic to floral glamour, nautical-inspired outfits, animal prints and even polka dots.

The men’s collection is predominantly rock as it is the classic theme for guys of this generation. The brand collaborates with Thailand’s celebrated movie star Ananda Everingham, who is both its endorser and co-designer.

Ananda, best known to us as the beguiling photographer in the 2004 horror movie Shutter, is one of the hottest and most popular endorsers in Thailand now. His look is sort of rebellious, with that mysterious appeal similar to the rugged and sexy demeanor popularized by the likes of James Dean in the 1950s. True to his style, Ananda’s contribution to the CPS Chaps men’s collection are graphic tees in black, white or gray, and plaid polos paired with dark, washed or destroyed jeans.

So it’s time to get on with the trend. Catch the strongest Thai-dal wave to hit Manila.
