How water changed my life
MANILA, Philippines - Inever thought that such a simple thing as water could change my life. Rather, grant me a new life. How did this happen? Let me tell you my story. In 2005, after experiencing long bouts of fatigue, weight loss and a dry sore throat with coughing, I was diagnosed with non-Hodgkins splenic marginal zone cancer, Stage 4. It is a rare form of cancer.
A cyst appeared in the middle of my spinal column, and it grew to the size of a saucer. The doctors refused to remove it because it was delicately located near my spine.
But they did remove my spleen, which had been badly infected with cancer, and gave me eight sessions of chemotherapy at the City of Hope Hospital, a refuge for cancer patients in Los Angeles where I live. My spleen was the size of a football when it was removed.
In 2006, I endured endless headaches and dizziness. Seeking strength in prayers and a valiant will power, I continued going to work. I even bravely traveled by myself to Asia and Europe.
In 2007, I passed out while working in the office. After extensive tests at the City of Hope, the doctors said the cancer had reached my brain. They also told me the grim news: They would drill a hole in my head to inject a different kind of chemo to my brain in 12 sessions. I was told that I might survive the ordeal. If I didn’t, I would have only four months to live.
Meanwhile, the cyst on my back near the spine became bigger. After the last chemo session in 2008, I was taking weekly blood transfusions. I was bedridden, too weak to even take care of myself. I was not allowed to go out because my immune system was weak. I felt I was lost in the City of Hopeless.
In August 2009, a family friend, Rebecca Molina, asked me to try drinking alkaline water purified by a machine invented in Japan. I was skeptical, but still tried it because, after all, the compassionate Rebecca had driven miles from her Huntington Beach home just to deliver gallons of water to me, a pathetic-looking skeletal being who seemed to be in such a terminal condition.
After weeks of drinking only this alkaline water, I noticed that I could now stand up and ably perform some household tasks I could not do before. Most amazing of all, my cyst began shrinking!
I spared my Good Samaritan friend Rebecca the miles of travel and decided to buy a water machine for myself. Soon, I could drive again. My stressful headaches were gone and I started going back to the gym routine, which I used to do during my pre-cancer years.
Two weeks ago, I experienced my biggest epiphany. While seated, I noticed that the cyst on my back had gotten soft and itchy. I asked my son to check it out and he saw the now-tiny cyst popping out of my back like a button. It came out without any pain. My cyst was gone!
Most of the cancer nodes in my body have disappeared, and the rest have become smaller. I am alive again. I owe my new life to alkaline water — and to endless prayers, of course.
The water machine from Japan that changed my life is called Kangen. It was invented by Japanese scientists in 1965 as a medical device used in hospitals. More than 30 years of clinical experience have shown that alkaline water enhances the healing powers of the human body. In the 1990s, smaller versions of the machine made with titanium and platinum were invented for home use by Enagic, the company that has been duly recognized and awarded by Japan’s Department of Health.
I am now in the Philippines to share my story of healing with family and friends. And never again will I take water for granted.
