Rupert Jacinto captures old Hollywood glamour
MANILA, Philippines - Photographer to the “faaabulous” Rupert Jacinto will launch his exhibit and coffee table book Faaabvlous on Feb. 23 at The Gallery, The Peninsula Manila, Makati City.
Guest of honor is President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo. Icons Madame Imelda Romualdez-Marcos, Lady Dewi Sukarno, Imelda Cojuangco, Loida Nicolas Lewis, Nedy Tantoco, Betsy Westendorp de Brias and Dee Zobel will also grace the event.
The coffee table book and exhibit is a special partnership project with the Advertising Foundation of the Philippines in support of the Love-A-Parish Program of the Sto. Niño de Paz of Greenbelt Chapel, under its chaplain Fr. Jun Sescon.
The Love-A-Parish program assists needy churches all over the country.
The title — Faaabvlous — is borrowed from The Washington Post’s headlined-interview “Rupert Jacinto: Photographer to the Faaabulous.”
Jacinto has photographed a Vanderbilt, a Rockefeller, Gucci, Countess Chandon of Moet & Chandon and the high society of New York — the likes of Nan Kempner, Caroll Petrie, Jean Tailer, Ivana Trump — and royalty Princess Chantal of France, Princess Elizabeth of Yugoslavia, among others.
The book and exhibit theme is “Old Hollywood Glamour.” The book is printed in two-tone — black and white — with 100 portraits featured in this latest Jacinto coffee table book. The photo shoot venues included the magnificent Goldenberg Mansion in Malacañang complex and at the stately residence of Gerry Contreras. The exhibit display is by Jun Jun Ablaza with Maxi One Productions as exhibit program planner.
Faaabvlous is presented with support from The Peninsula Manila, Hewlett Packard, Flawless, Titania Wines, Maxi One Productions and RJ 100.
