MANILA, Philippines - The biggest Spanish Film Festival in Asia is back bigger and better! Now in its eighth year, Película never fails to excite the senses. With 46 movies, three venues, and an aerial dance show, there’s always something to keep the public busy and entertained!
Película kicks off Sept. 30 (Wednesday) with an opening night presented by Instituto Cervantes and Ayala Malls, featuring a dance performance by B612, a vertical dance company who was brought to Manila by Instituto Cervantes to display their world-class performance to local audiences.
Screening at 8 p.m. in the Greenbelt 3, Cinema 2 is the Philippine premier of the movie No Me Pidas Que Te Bese Porque Te Besaré (Don’t Ask Me To Kiss You, Because I Will). This comedy is about a man who is repenting his decision to marry and takes guitar lessons with “special” people to distract himself before his wedding.
Vertical Dance Group
Founded in Seville, Spain in 1999 by David Gutiérrez, B612 Danza Vertical is not your typical dance group as it performs out of the conventional halls and combines contemporary dance with acrobatics, where the choreography incorporates an apparatus often attached to the ceiling, allowing performers to explore space in three dimensions.
The group has appeared in dance festivals around the world and has taken unusual spaces such as churches, city councils, castles, palaces, theaters, universities, public buildings, houses, commercial offices and city centers as their stage.
Starting 6:30 p.m. at the Greenbelt 5 Fashion Walk Area, experience for your self the latest artistic spectacle from Spain that is B612.
Meant to be enjoyed by all ages, B612 will have two performances: at the Película opening night on Sept. 30, 6:30 p.m., and on Oct. 2, 6:30 p.m. Both performances will be held at Greenbelt 5 Fashion Walk Area.
