MANILA, Philippines – People from near and far trooped in endless waves to SM City Fairview on Quirino Highway, Regalado Ave., Novaliches, Quezon City when the first of its three buildings opened in October 1997. Imagine three buildings of pure shopping indulgence on all of 200,000 square meters of space! First, there came the well-loved SM mainstays like SM Department Store, SM Supermarket, SM Foodcourt, state-of-the-art SM Cinemas, National Book Store, Watsons, Surplus Shop, Appliance Center, Ace Hardware, Toy Kingdom, and Our Home. And then, with the new millennium came exciting new attractions like SM Storyland and SM Bowling Center.
So far, so good — make that great! The mall opened an annex in May, 2004 housing the Ace Builders Center, The Event Center, and the Palm Strip with its row of palm-fringed restaurants and a stage where some bands perform. Another annex, called Annex 2, opened only last January, where Ace Builders Center and The Event Center were transferred. Boasting the biggest atrium of the SM malls, the new Annex building is also home to a hundred more shops, including a whole floor of beauty shops and skin clinics designed spa-cially for you.
A renovated Storyland opened last May with its spanking new granite tiles and exciting new rides.
At the new Annex, more stores and restos bring a whole new excitement to the mall.
Don’t you think it’s about time you rediscovered SM City Fairview?
Fun-tasy and more
Storyland: A never-ending story of fun and games
People who go to SM Storyland in SM City Fairview only have one story to tell: It’s fun, fun, fun, and more!
“It’s the newest of SM’s seven Storylands,” says John Louie Ruben, marketing associate. “We have thousands of people who come here on weekends.”
In case you don’t know the story of Storyland, it’s an indoor theme park that provides kiddie entertainment — from active to creative to imaginative play. It’s got the latest in kiddie rides including the City Rail that goes around the park, arcade games, a souvenir shop, and diners that go beyond popcorn and cotton candy.
A ride-all-you-can ticket is a steal at P280. The rides are child-friendly, guaranteed safe, and well-maintained. Among the popular kiddie rides that even adults would enjoy are the roller-coaster, the bump car, the balloon ride, and the Grand Carousel. But of course, parents can join their little ones.
There are games for the whole family every Saturday with prizes given away by sponsors.
To add to its fun-tastic story, SM Storyland also has a Party Room where birthday parties can be held. And yes, kids, you can invite a Storyland mascot — Lionel, the king of Storyland, Ellie, the princess of Storyland, Sgt. March, or Eggbert the storyteller — to your birthday. There are party packages, like the Wands & Wishes that features a host magician with puppet, ventriloquist show, magic show, caricature artist, glitter tattoo, kiddie salon, juggling show, unicyclist show, dog and monkey show, among others.
And listen up, kids: Wouldn’t it be more fun if you joined the Club Storyland, for children 12 years old and under, that would entitle you to exclusive discounts and Storyland’s fun-filled bulletin starring the Storyland characters?
Indeed at Storyland, kids are guaranteed only happy endings.

SM Hypermarket: Hypermodern wet market
The new SM Hypermarket at SM City Fairview has certainly put the “hyper” in the market. More choices, more convenience, and more service are in store for shoppers in the North Metro area.
Conveniently located at the ground floor of the mall’s Annex 1, the 9,000-square-meter hypermodern wet market complements the existing SM Supermarket branch at the mall, the largest in SM’s chain of supermarkets. That spells double advantage for customers who are served better and faster.
Consider the Hypermarket’s hyper features: 70 check-out counters to make shopping a breeze with quicker service and lesser queues; Hyper Fresh section where you get only the freshest catch of the day, as well as meat, poultry, fruits, and vegetables; the Hyper Grocer section with its wide assortment of groceries, including the popular Bonus brand, as well as Big Packs for bulk purchases; and Hyper Living which carries clothes, shoes, accessories, and personal care items, as well as houseware, furniture, and appliances.
SM Hypermarket also has a takal-takal section where the price-savvy shoppers can buy just the right amount of ingredients they need — rice, herbs, fruits, vegetables, and even meat products.
Customers can also enjoy great savings and discounts on value packs of groceries.
If all that shopping at the new SM Hypermarket makes you hungry, take a break and indulge your cravings at the food outlets like Zagu, Sizzling Plate Express, Turk’s Shawarma, Paotsin, Jose’s Goto, Pancit Malabon Express, Lot’s A Pizza and Pinoy Specials, Hotdog Onsticks, and Henlin.
Also super on service, the new SM Hypermarket at SM City Fairview has a Western Union counter for remittances as well as bill payments and forex services, and facilities for mobile phone reloading.
