Green living with GE and Ayala Land

-

MANILA, Philippines – The corporate partnership between GE (General Electric) and Ayala Land Inc. (ALI) forged last year to promote green buildings and houses in the latter’s real estate development project, Nuvali, is being pursued and implemented aggressively with the recent completion and inauguration of Nuvali’s Evoliving Center.

This showroom demonstrates the integration of green building design and energy-efficient customer products in a modern, green building created to showcase the achievements of the growing Nuvali community as a testament to green architecture and design. It features GE’s wide-range of ecomagination-certified industrial and commercial products that save on power, water and gas.

Government dignitaries and officials of Ayala Land   led by chairman Fernando Zobel de Ayala presided over the launching ceremonies. Joining them were Colin Low, GE president for Philippines, Singapore and Cambodia and regional executive for GE Growth Initiatives Southeast Asia; and GE executives John Alcordo, market development director; Jessica Blas, corporate communications manager for Philippines, Singapore and Cambodia; and Matthew Duque, industrial sales manager for GE Consumer and Industrial. Also there were CYA Industries president Franklin Chan and his team composed of Norman Reynoso, marketing services and institutional sales manager; and James Reyes, corporate sales supervisor.

“We are proud to be a partner of Ayala Land for Nuvali because we believe in their vision of building the first sustainably developed ecopolis in the country that is poised to provide a better quality of life for its residents,” Low says. “Our collaboration will help strengthen GE’s ecomagination initiative which we launched in 2005 to address environmental issues and meet our customers’ need for more efficient, less emissive products.”

Displayed at the newly inaugurated center was GE’s breakthrough Homespring System, designed to provide modern homes with cleaner and safer water from each faucet. The GE Homespring Central Water Purifier physically blocks out contaminants such as bacteria, parasites and viruses as the water enters the house in order for the families to enjoy ultra-filtered and drinkable water fresh from the tap.

Also showcased at the Nuvali Evoliving Center is the GE wind turbine, which, when the wind blows, can operate with higher efficiency and reliability than ever before. GE’s most popular wind turbine, the 1.5MW turbine produces enough electricity for about 400 homes a year. The Compact fluorescent (CFL) light bulbs, which offer energy savings of up to 75 percent and last up to 10 times longer than incandescent bulbs, are also on display.

The inauguration of Nuvali’s Evoliving Center marks another milestone in GE’s partnership with Ayala Land. Through GE’s ecomagination products and technology, the companies expect to continue working together in promoting the Evoliving lifestyle through green homes and communities in the Nuvali development. Considered a breakthrough project for GE Philippines after close to 120 years of presence in the country, this collaboration spans three years of continuing promotion of GE’s environmental-friendly products.
