What would you consider the best time of your life?
This was one question that was so inspiring to ask. It makes one think of the positive events that have happened in our lives. If you sit down and really think about it, for sure there will be lots of “best times” that will cross your mind. I used to look back at insignificant, unfortunate incidents that have happened in my life and worrying was part of my day until I came across the wonderful book
Love Your Life
by Victoria Osteen. She tells readers to stop replaying negative thoughts in their lives and instead focus on the positive things that have happened. With my three children growing up fast, I am teaching them to start building their memory banks with inspiring and happy moments.
LEAH CARINGAL, managing director, Green Bulb: The best time of my life is now. I’m happy, content, and I know my place under the sun. Now is a good place to be at.
MONA VALDES, chef-athlete: I’d say the year I met my husband. It was serendipitous, magical, and romantic!
JULIE C. CALCELLER, department head, Infinity Business Group, Smart Communications: The best time of my life is now. Life has taught me a lot of lessons that have made me the person I am today. I am complete and extremely happy in all my life areas — spiritual, personal, and professional. I love my life and I make sure every day I am thankful for what I have, what I go through, what I learn from, and I’m living my life to the fullest.
Dr. AMABLE “MIGUEL” C. AGUILUZ IX, president and CEO, ACA Group of Companies: I am a father of three beautiful children and being so proves that the best time of my life can happen over and over. Becoming a father, whether it was the first, second or third time, gave me that unique and indescribable heavenly feeling. Having my own family has given me a sense of contentment and wholeness I had never known before.
SOLER SANTOS, artist: God has really blessed my life over the years, but the two, best times of my life are — first, marrying my wife Mona, and second, the births of our three children, Luis, Carina and Isabel. Everything else just seems like added blessings to an already great life.
TINA TINIO, international area manager, Parfums Givenchy, LVMH Japan: The best time of my life is now. I have always sought to live my life extraordinarily by living every moment to its fullest and not having any regrets. I see all the things I did in the past as the best times of my life at those moments because they brought me to where I am today: living out a new adventure and proving myself again by taking on new challenges. I am having the time of my life now, living in and rediscovering Tokyo, making great friends and carving out a name for myself in LVMH Japan with Parfums Givenchy. Every day is an exciting new experience and I go to sleep looking forward to the next day because I believe that the best is always yet to come!
BESSIE BADILLA, model-turned-film producer: Now is the best time of my life. At 50, I am very happy and healthy, and I am doing things I could only dream of in the past. I am learning new things, from co-producing the independent film Bakal Boys to conceptualizing and co-writing the full-feature animation Fly Aswang. I’m thrilled my Brazilian Portuguese is getting better as quickly as I’ve mastered dancing samba mangeira in six-inch heels! I am spending more time and enjoying the company of my daughters, family and friends traveling the world and experiencing different cultures first hand. One of our most recent and unforgettable trip was in Brazil, when I became the first Filipina to be a rainha (queen) and destaque (star) at the Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro carnavals! I’m living the life and living my dreams right now.
DOT Undersecretary CYNTHIA L. CARRION: Countless good things have highlighted my entire life. I would say the best time of my life is the present. Because I have reached the age where my one foot is already in the “departure area,” yet I feel like I am only 20 years old. It is a wonderful feeling to have all this knowledge and experience in life but your body still feels like 20, ready to run a marathon. I attribute this feeling to exercise — being fit makes you a happy person, and a happy person is a healthy person. In my life, I have learned the two virtues that open all doors: love and gratitude. I have learned that through helping others you can really find happiness. Always have self-confidence, be firm with your values and principles, and yet possess a “tender heart” that is sensitive to God’s touch. Looking back, I thank God for making each day the best day of my life. For being blessed with a wonderful family and caring friends. He gave me unbinding gifts that made my life so exhilarating, fascinating, challenging and, most of all, the gift of good health.
