A Valentine's date with Boyce Avenue at SM Supermalls
Music lovers of all ages will have the rare opportunity to watch Boyce Avenue, a popular Florida-based band perform in a tour of SM Supermalls just in time for Valentine’s Day. The group will be performing live for the first time in the Philippines.
This Youtube sensation best known for their hits and strong acoustic roots and constant drive towards a melody-and-harmony-driven rock sound consists of three brothers — Alejandro, Fabian, and Daniel Manzano — and their friend Stephen Hawker. They will perform their popular cover songs like Umbrella, Apologize, and Tattoo on Feb. 12 at 6 p.m. at the Atrium of SM City Cebu’s Northwing, on Feb. 13 at 7 p.m. at the Entertainment Mall of SM Mall of Asia and The Block at SM City North Edsa on Feb. 14 at 5 p.m., and on Feb. 15 at 7:30 p.m. at the SM Megamall Atrium. All performances are open to the public and free of charge.
With their sights set on finishing their debut album, Boyce Avenue members took a hiatus from performing schedules to write, produce, and record additional singles. In July 2007, the band returned to Atlanta, Georgia this time to record three songs at the Electron Gardens Studio in the historic Biltmore Hotel. These songs were engineered by Gary Pfaff and Tim Delaney and produced by Boyce Avenue.
In October of the same year, the band finished tracking for the debut album with the recording of two songs at RMP studios in Orlando, Florida with the assistance of friend Stephen Hawker on the drums. Dare to Believe, On My Way, and Hear Me Now, the final three songs in the album, will be performed by the group during their shows at the SM malls. The album entitled “All You’re Meant to Be” was released by Boyce Avenue in 2008.
The Boyce Avenue performance is a joint project of the SM Supermalls and Music Management, Inc. MTV is its official music channel, while Magic 89.9, XFM, and Wave 89.1 are its official radio partners.
