If I consider myself an ‘80s girl, Kate Torralba is definitely ‘60s.
You can tell by her love of bright colors and short dresses that not only match the little handbags she makes, but also her personality.
What’s not to love about Kate Torralba? She’s one of the few un-jaded people you’ll meet in the industry. No wonder fun projects always come her way, like the limited-edition KT beaded handbags and T-shirts she has made for Hello Kitty, and now a dream collaboration with City Lady, “a stalwart in the local stocking market for decades.”
“City Lady, formerly known as the brand Lady President, is manufactured by Manila Bay Hosiery Mills, Inc. (MBHMI). MBHMI has been manufacturing hosieries since 1955,” goes the website. “With its technical expertise and consistent innovation to produce quality hosieries, MBHMI has manufactured Gold Toe socks since 1968 and is the proud owner and manufacturer of City Lady stockings. City Lady stockings are sure to be durable and sophisticated with its modish styles.”
Kate says she was very excited to receive the phone call in August — the offer was “too exciting to refuse.” City Lady wanted to attract a new market of “hip, young things” to its range of leg wear.
At the Leg Love launch held at the Manila Peninsula’s Conservatory, Kate was wearing one of her printed tights, which were surprisingly very good quality.
Reasonably priced from P299 for solid/opaque colors and textured, to P399 for printed/limited edition, KT’s Leg Love collection will be sold at SM department stores in Metro Manila as well as Kate Torralba’s Greenbelt 5 store this December.
