The Camera Club of the Philippines (CCP) has found a new home at the fifth floor of Waltermart in Makati.
Member Leo Riingen said that during several group exhibitions last year there were a lot of inquiries on whether the club conducts courses in photography.
Also, the members had tons of images they wanted to exhibit or even sell. The space came about when Wilson Lim, owner of Hypermart, began setting up a learning center on the fifth floor of the Makati mall. This includes a cooking school by Heny Sison and a dance and fitness center by Ana Periquet.
It made sense to include a photography space by the best-known photography guild in the country.
Currently some of its members include Patrick Uy, Bien Bautista, Emil Davocol, Jaime Zobel de Ayala, Pancho Escaler, Raul Montifar, Francis Rivera, Quincy Castillo, Bern Siy, Eric Quiason, ex-Rep. Miles Roces, Deputy Executive Secretary Manny Gaite, Rudy De Leon, Sycip Law managing director Lew Llanillo, Atty. Archie Fortun, Francis Magalona and Fr. Basil Apostol.
Activities lined up include solo exhibits of CCP photographers and classes in Basic Photography, Color Management, the Serious Photographer Workshop, Travel Photography and Fashion Photography.
