What is your favorite picture?

WORDS WORTH - Mons Romulo -
We all have a photo (or perhaps more than one photo) that we really like. That picture where we feel we look our best. It can be a candid photo taken during one of our happiest moments or it can be a picture for which we posed our best for and had a professional photographer shoot it. Just like some of our other favorite things, when we look at our best photo we can’t help but smile because memories often accompany our pictures.

TJ MANOTOC,
TV host: It was taken in Sweden. I was there for the Gothia Cup, an interclub football tournament where the Philippines sends a team every summer. I was with my dad Tommy Manotoc. We were at the grandstand watching a European football game. In the picture my dad is lying down on my lap while I am holding a soft drink.

ROSA ROSAL,
governor, Philippine National Red Cross: Some years ago, I was chosen as a Camay girl. It was an honor for me to be chosen that’s why I like this picture so much. My hair looked so nice although they had a hard time fixing it during those days.

JOANNA PREYSLER,
mother/marketing director, Carbon: My fave photo was taken pretty recently. It’s of my daughter Monica and myself in cooking class. It was her birthday and I decided we would frost our faces with icing. It captures my relationship with Monica perfectly. We have genuine bond and understanding of each other. Plus we are silly together.

COUNCILOR KIM ATIENZA,
5th district, Manila: Picture was taken in 1986 when Marcos fled. It was a time when I was very idealistic and was willing to give up my life for something I believed in. Politics for me then was black and white, good vs. bad. Now I pray daily for wisdom and discernment to thrive and serve society with a lot of gray.

ANGEL JACOB,
actress/model: This picture taken in May 2003 by the Picture Company projects my usual happy self when I’m with my daughter Arielle. She’s growing up so fast, which makes me cherish every moment I spend with her. I look at this picture with loving eyes and a happy heart, thankful for the blessings of "my little angel."

MARISSA O. CONCEPCION,
homemaker: I like this photograph that was taken in 1997 by Jun de Leon, as it looks timeless — a classic. Everyone always asks me about this picture.

ANA ABAD SANTOS-BITONG,
stage actress: My husband Vincent took this picture last year on our 3rd wedding anniversary in South Africa. That trip just blew us away; we forgot everything and anything. Every time I look at this photograph of myself with a cup of coffee in the middle of the African bush... it just amazes me.

JENNI EPPERSON,
stylist, Chalk fashion editor, columnist: I like this particular photo of me with my daughter Aryanna as it is our very first family portrait. Being married to Tom (a photographer), you would imagine that we have tons of family portraits or formal sittings, ironically, we don’t. All our photos are candid shots. This is a rare moment for us to actually have a sitting (not so formal though) and I love how we’re dressed down, more relaxed and bare footed when this was taken. I feel and look pretty good in this photo, I guess I get that way when I’m around my family.

ALTA TAN,
public relations manager, Bench Fix Salon: The reason this is my favorite picture is because it was the very first picture taken of me posing as a model. I think it reflects my relative innocence during those bygone days.
